2 questions!!!
Ordering and Shipping

Hi, For question 1) once you have uploaded, you have to order at least one copy. You have about 2 weeks to do so. If by then, you still haven’t ordered, the book disappears…! (it happened to me!!!)

For question 2) I haven’t got a clue!   By the way your book looks great. Wish I could sell some of mine to buy a copy of yours.

Slow Postage
Ordering and Shipping

That’s it… I’ve received my second blurb book this morning. It was dispatched on 20th November from Holland and it has arrived on 28th November in my letterbox in France. Thank God for internet and email… that’s what a letter would have taken in them good olden days!!!

Slow Postage
Ordering and Shipping

Same here. My order was reported to have been dispatched on 21 Nov. From Holland to France it should not take too long. Of course the rail and the post office in France were on strike. It could be the reason for the delay…. In any case I am anxiously waiting for my book!

Why so highly priced?
General Interest

Thanks Grubb and Annette.

I take note of your suggestions and shall see what I can do for the next edition! But… I do enjoy working with the Blurb program. And I could include photos in my little ‘novel’ one day perhaps. The black and white format is perhaps too plain for my liking. I wanted something fancy, like my ‘novel’. It means it won’t sell. Too bad!

Why so highly priced?
General Interest

Here’s some feedback I received on the publishing of my 124 pages novel, no photos, just text: "This is great news to see all your hard work now in print.  I just wondered why the book is so highly price – I am sure it’s a treasure to have but I think that 30 euros for a paper-back is quite steep.  I would have thought you’d sell a lot more books if the price was more in line with the going rate for a paper back – say maximum 20 euros."

What can I reply?

Lack of payment options

Why do you say that, Brian?  What ‘belseydavis’ has written is of interest to anyone, I should think!  I would like to see more payment options too.

"Set your price" mid-solution for Europe? Why not redeem profits as gift...

I appreciate your hard work. Thanks. And yes, would it be possible to know if there are sales on a given book anyway?

'set your price' for EU citizens
Web Features

Hi,  I’d love to ‘set my price’ for my first book… but the service isn’t available outside the USA

When will it be possible to use it in Europe?  Is it just a matter of tax?

my first book... very satisfied!
General Interest

Hi,

Just received my first blurb book and I confess here that I am very satisfied.

On the subject of expensive shipping I enjoyed greatly the possibility of tracking my parcel by the hour. I received it at my address from a friendly and smiling guy who asked my to ‘sign here’. There’s proof that way that my address isn’t fake and that the book (with copyrights) isn’t lost in the bush!...  valuable feedback to blurb. It is expansive alright but I enjoy this ‘luxury’.

On the subject of quality I find it just perfect. Thank you blurb!  Keep working! you’re on the right track.

Best regards,  f r a n k i e

PS I wanted to insert a photo but I have to give the image url… how do I insert an image directly from my computer?

Hi,  I’ve just uploaded my first (small) book and I’m asked my bank card details. Is there any other way to pay to order a book? like a bank transfer from overseas?  frankie

ctrl+a
BookSmart

Hi guys! Love your sense of humor… I’m busy fiddling to get my first book ready for publishing… it seems the ‘select’ control doesn’t work quite well… it doestn’t ‘hold’... I mean when I select, it turns orange, fine, but it doesn’t hold the whole text for very long… by the time I choose, say, another font, the selected area has reduced to half… It makes me mad!

Best regards, f r a n k i e
