Question on how this will be printed in an image wrap book
Book Design and Imaging

Looking at a previously printed hard back book I did, I started with the title, then the copywrite page and then my first page, so something similar to your order of pages.

The title page is the first page in the book (right hand side) and the copywrite page is printed on the reverse side of the title page( Left side). My first page is then facing you as you open the book and is on the right hand page.

So i think you will be alright and get it how you want.

Hope that helps

Blank pages at start and finish of the book.
Book Design and Imaging

Please can someone clarify. I have been looking at my two previously printed hard back books.

When you open the book. the first thing you see is a plain white page of a rougher paper type than the rest of the book. You turn this over to find the title page. Same again at the rear of the book after the Blurb logo end page.

Is this automatically added to every book, or just the hard back book. Or is this a page I need to account for as page 1 when I am creating my book in Booksmart if i want a blank page.

If I have my title page as page 1, do I still get the double sided rougher white page anyway as a standard thing, or do I need to add them as pages 1 & 2 and have the title as page 3.

Don’t want to waste two printed pages in the book trying to achieve a blank page at the front only to find I get 4 blank pages when its printed.

Hope you can understand my questions.

Thanks

Regards

Chris

Clipped Text Warning Problem
Book Design and Imaging

Hi,

I have already created and printed a book and I am happy with the result. I am now working on a companian book to go with the first book so the layouts are similar.

I have a Foreword page but on the second book, when I enter the word FOREWORD in the header box, no matter what size, script or placing in the header box, i get a clipped text warning. I am using the same script and size as i did in the first book but for the second, i can’t seem to get rid of the clipped text warning. Everything looks OK in the preview page but it still shows a warning.

A’m I doing something wrong or am i missing something. What happens if i submit the book if it is still giving me a clipped text warning.

Likewise i have a clipped text warning in a header box on another page. The line of text only goes half way across the header box and I have a similar line of text on  another page that fills more of the header box, but that one says is OK.

Advice welcome as i am nearly ready to submit this book.

Thanks

Chris

Disc Full when uploading
BookSmart

Thanks again Lee, your help was invaluable. I managed to clear 2 1/2 GB from C Drive and freed up some space and this time the book uploaded. I sat watching it just in case it crashed again so that I would know how close i was but fortunately everything went fine. So just ordered 4 copies of my first book and can now start work on the second one that is planned.

Thanks

Disc Full when uploading
BookSmart

Thanks for your reply Lee,  I have the Booksmart program installed on a seperate Hard drive which has plenty of space.  However my on board hard drives are both pretty full C drive has less than 1 GB free and D drive has 5.5GB free. Could this be the problem ?

Disc Full when uploading
BookSmart

HI,

I have spent about three months putting together a 13×11 landscape book which is 154 pages and mainly photos. Many of these were scanned from 6×4 prints at 7.20 DPI so that i had hig res pictures big enough to0 fill a 13×11 page if needed. There is 381 pictures in total but about 1/4 the way through upload a message came up saying "Sorry not enough disc space" what does this mean. Are my pictures too large to upload ? what do I do, its taken 3 months to do so far but the book has to be done and delivered by 18th November.

Help, Can I upload it as it is or do I have to rework the book again.

Thanks

Regards

Chris
