Is anyone happy with the result of your book?
Book Printing

I have uploaded and ordered 4 books in the last 3 months (a 7×7 softcover, a 10×8 hardcover, and (2) 13×11 hardcover—(1) 54 pages, (1) 160 pages). To be honest, it was better than expected. I have received nothing but rave reviews from my clients (as they were mostly wedding photo books. The 160 page large format book brought tears to my client’s eyes yesterday when i presented her Family Legacy book she hired me to compile. The colors were true to what I saw on my monitor.

The only thing is I wish the dust jacket was either sturdier or packaged differently. Twice the corners were damaged upon opening the shrink wrap, no matter how careful.

If I noticed any color issues, I think it was because of my color enhancing or adjusting wasn’t quite right (or over saturated). So if there are color printing issues it may be the way the photo was taken, or from what I’m reading with the previous posts, certain printing Blurb locations??

I’m ordering another 13×11 (my favorite size…no other company offers this), 120 page, for a wedding I shot a month ago, and am looking forward to seeing it!!

Thanks, Pat for answering my question. I figured so, getting a photo release is always the best bet. Do you know of any websites that have a sample photo release form? I usually just make one up for my personal class, but if this is going to involve more students, and outside my classroom, I will be needing it, for sure.

Thanks!!

Like the comments on this thread.

Just to inquire, do the parents of the kids in the ballet production sign release forms? Or we covered, as photographers, with our own copyright to the photos to use them for sale? Just wondering. I was thinking that I could combine my talents and 2nd profession w/. my 1st profession, a teacher, and make a yearbook (and make profit) for our culminating 5th graders. Please advise if you can.

My First Blurb Book
General Interest

Hello, I just received my first Blurb book. After hearing some of the discouraging posts here, I was a little wary, but wanted to find out for myself. I am happy I did. I made a large format, 44 page book for our honeymoon pictures (and also a sample photo book for my potential clients as an economical alternative to the wedding album). Everyone in my family LOVES the book. My grandmother couldn’t believe that it was a custom made bok! She wanted one of her own!

So, I will be using Blurb, again. In fact, I have a client who wants a 80 page photo book for her parents’ anniversary gala. I am confident that the book will be a hit!

Thanks!
