Blurb, you did amazing job for my book: the trip to the 3. Check it out!
Book Printing

Dear blurb and bluberaties,

Thank you so much for your amazing services.

I just received my book and it was wonderfully printed.

And I think you’ve made a lot of improvements lately.

From the thicker material and superb print of the jacket cover, improvement binding and nice prints of the contents of the book.

It is now really a nice presentable art, travel & photography book and I am now ready to sell them here to share with everybody about the beauty of Bali, Kuala Lumpur & Singapore though my lenses.

I hope you maintain the consistancy of the good quality control and be one of the top Individual Book Maker in the US and internationally.

I am speechless of this book after all of the problems of the first edition of my book. And all I can say for all the blurb beginners, please recheck the saturation of your pictures and make them brighther for a good result. It is a lot of work but it definitely woth it. I, myslef has spent almost two months to make it final edition (and it also because of the delay of 1.9 software). I did some of the design with Photoshop CS2 to support the theme of my book and make the layout prettier.

For everybody who wants to take a sneak peak of my book, I made a special page on my flickr as I dedicated to blurb. Here it is:

Enjoy it.

blurb, well done!

Sorry…I missed the phrase where you said that you no longer have the old laptop.

I don’t know a way to download it from blurb directly.

Hi.

You can do this:

Go to ‘File’ on the top left of Booksmart software.

Click ‘Export/Backup’, the backup files for your book  will be moved to your specific folder (e.g My Document)

From there, you can burn them into a CD/DVD (whichever you prefer)

Put the CD/DVD to your new laptop that has Booksmart software installed.

There you go, you can see your book on the new laptop.

Goodluck.

Black or White page background?
General Interest

Yannis, you’re works are marvelous. I would buy one if it’s come to a book.

For me personally I choose white like Lee said.

But black could be very nice too if it’s happened to be done correctly with a pretty layout.

My First Blurb Book - An Exercise In Disappointment
Book Printing

JasonSigs:

I couldn’t agree more to what you wrote. I spent hours/days working on my first book layout. I could hardly wait to get my copy. It finally came, a week late. The quality was horrible. The cover did not even look the same as what I had prepared. The background color was off. The pictures were grainy and blurred. And that was just the covor. The pictures inside were dark and flat. All of life of what I had taken was gone. The color was not even consistant across the same page! I also had random borders appear on some photos and none on other. I did not select ANY borders. Now I am at a lose as to what to do next.

I will say that customer support has been wonderful to date, and I am hopefully that they will be able to solve most of their quality control issues. I’ll give them a second chance and see if any of their suggestions are helpful.

Keep me posted as to how things work-out for you.

Nathan
