Can't Access Other Drives When "Get Photos"

I am on Wndows XP and have installed BookSmart. I am trying to use the Get Photos button. When I click on My Computer and try to select the drive that stores my book images, nothing happens, or it takes forever to open. Don’t have any problems like this on any other app. Any ideas? Want to use your product, but I can’t get to my book photos.
