Cost of shipping
Ordering and Shipping

I keep reading these posts about different shipping methods and just scratch my head at it all. Nowadays national postal services are competing vigorously with each other and I would have thought they would offer good deals. When I order my books (which have all been incredibly well received because of the quality) they get printed in the Netherlands I think and then shipped by UPS,

The one time I used Swisspost it was a shambles. Surely local/national postal administrations are all clamouring for business and can offer better deals. Royal Mail in UK is bending over backwards to attract customers and I would guess that the equivalent organisations in Netherlands, USA etc would be doing the same.

I just ordered some new books for my family and opted for UPS because in quantity it is better for reliability – but I bet it would have been cheaper and just as efficient if the local postal service had been available.

A completely unacceptable response from Blurb for a failure of the chose...
Ordering and Shipping

I used Swiss Post too. Absolutely hopeless. Shipping page says aomething about 5-7 working days. In reality nearly 11. Very poor alternative to UPS for the UK. I am lost as to why the regular postal service of the nation in which the book is printed cannot be used – doesn’t seem like rocket science but maybe I am missing something.

Or, as we pay by credit card, why can’t the remittance simply be applied to the card with which we made the original purchase? Maybe I’m missing something here…
