Thank you very much for the jacket!  It’s cozy and warm.  It arrived during a cold spell in Calgary, Canada, and, although it is summer, I’ve had much wear out of it already, alas!

Proof Reader Needed
BlurbNation Member Forum

Hi Sally, (this is my 3rd try to post a response: forgive me if you’re getting them all anyway!)

I am an experienced editor/proofreader.  I have written/edited/proofread university theses/dissertations, academic publiscations, newsletters, magazine articles, etc.  I know I don’t live quite next-door to you, but most of my work is done electronically.  My standard fee is $25 per hour, by this is negotiable depending on the work and the client.  If you and your client are interested in my services, I would be happy to hear from you.

French quotes in English text
BookSmart

Excellent advice, Tony!  I always marvel at your knowledge, and how you are able and willing to help so many bookmakers.

I usually cut-and-paste foreign-language texts from Word documents.  The ‘Insert: Symbols’ tool provides absolutely all the symbols/accents I will ever need, and more.  I didn’t know about the numeric pad functions, though.  I learned something new, again.  Thanks!

Good luck with your book, Jeff!

ISBN. LCCN, PCN Copyright et al
General Interest

Hi,

From a previous post I obtained the US site, below, that provides ISBN numbers/barcodes: http://www.publisherservices-us.com/.  I found it very quick and easy to do.

I paid for just one to try it out.  It is more economical to buy several at the same time.  Now I have difficulties with getting the barcode onto my back cover.  I used Corel Paint&Draw to save the file.  Should have saved it as an Acrobat Illustrator or Pagemaker file, I think.  In Corel I seem unable to save the barcode file as a jpg or pgn.

When I follow the instructions that came with the ISBN # and bar code, nothing works.  Is there anyone out there who could suggest some workable options?

If all else fails, I guess I could always pt the barcode on sticky labels and attach them to the covers after printing.

 Thanks,

Gerry
