A question for contest organizers about voting

> And yep, these books will be viewable using our Full Book Preview.

Sorry, I can’t understand. Does it mean that people will be able to view the whole book even if only some pages of it are marked as public?

I was wandering...
PDF to Book

Since you delivered Indesign templates for those who want to create their book with Adobe’s software, why don’t you also accept Indesign file as well for printing?

A question for contest organizers about voting
General Interest

Hello.

I read the website visitor’s will be able to vote for public books starting from october 23.

Which part of each book will be visible for those who want to vote? The whole book or just the pages marked as visible in the book settings?

InDesign CS3 and color profile
Book Design and Imaging

Hello,
I have accurately read the way of getting out the maximum from full bleed template here:

http://blurberatiblog.com/index.php?s=cs3&Submit=Search

But I have a question about that. InDesign CS3 does NOT embed color profile info into JPG exported (and previous versions neither), so all the JPGs created with CS3 and imported into Booksmart will not have any color space information.
Isn’t that a problem?

Best regards

Why no one print on large landscape?
General Interest

I have been looking through the book previews in bookstore, searching for arge landscape books. It is seems to me that almost everyone rather prefer to print on standard landscape (10×8). Is it a matter of cost or whatelse?

Kind regards

Preparing book:
Book Design and Imaging

Hello,
I am ready to prepare the project for my large landscape book. I have read quite all the posts in these forum and I have surely learned a lot.
Since objects in Booksmart are not moveable and resizable (which definitely is its major defect) I will design my layout with Photoshop and create one JPG for each inside page. Then, I will let them flow in the full page Booksmart layout.
As many users here already know this process is VERY time consuming, and that’s why I would do all I can in order to avoid errors and grant myself a printing as similar as possible to what I see in the book preview.
So I would REALLY appreciate Blurb staff to give me some feedback about my workflow and answer few questions:

1) all my full-page images will be 12.62 inches wide by 10.88 inches high as suggested in Blurb FAQs. FAQs also state that those full bleed page measurements include 0.125-inch bleed on top, bottom, and outside edge. But since pages are actually a bit bigger (13×11 inches) what about that 0.38 inch remaining?

2) all my full-page images will be created with Photoshop, using sRGB color profile color. The image adjustments will be done under color proofing using HP Indigo 5000 ICC file. Is it also necessary to check the “Simulate paper white” option? (The difference on the screen is evident)

3) in some full-page images there will be small captions, also created with Photoshop. Is there any known inconvenience in creating captions outside Booksmart? (I mean, lost of focus, blurring etc.)

4) at the end of the process, will shipping costs be like those I can find in the bookstore for a book of the same dimension?

Sorry for the length of this post and thank you very much.

ps: I would really like to know if in the next Booksmart upgrade there will be the possibilty to design pages by moving and resizing objects. In that case I will not begin building pages outside! :)
