I use Blurb to make wedding albums and I’m receiving loads of requests for Panoramic albums. I’d like to suggest that Blurb offers a bit of a higher end book especially targeted to brides that are "panoramic" and perhaps with some kind of lamination/protection on the pages. I think there are probably lots of other folks out there who would be interested in a similar product.
I totally agree with the other folks here in the forum. Personally I have spent nearly $1500 on books here at blurb and have never recieved a coupon code. I subscribe to the newsletter but have never seen a discount code in it.
For some of us who are professional and offers these books to clients it’s almost impossible to turn a profit. I also have ordered with mypublisher in the past because they always offer a good discount. I photograph events and give the client 1 book per event… the probablility of ever getting a discount for a bulk order is unlikely as most brides don’t want 10 albums!
Like another poster here in the forum suggested, after $1000 of purchases, perhaps a 25% discount is in order?
I hope that you consider the idea.
I’m wondering if Blurb is thinking of introducing a glossy or semi-gloss finish option? I’m a wedding photographer and prefer using blurb because of the ease of the software, but when I show albums to brides, they almost always ask for a "glossier" and "thicker" page.
Also, I think a glossier "image wrap" cover is in order. The colors are way to de-saturated and on my last order you could see banding in the grooms face.
Thanks in advance for the feedback.
