Laser Printer test vs Blurb
Book Printing

No you can not and should not.  I think their auto machine has only one setting and one setting fits all.  Do not assume it will bite you in the butt.  I did the same thing and was very dissappointed when the book showed up.  I am on my second reorder.  I even uploaded the same pic to Costco and inlarged them using the exact same format.  The pics were perfect.  All I can say is I am using a different book company.  Too much invested for the quality to be so poor.  Plus I dont like the email only communication.  The millions they were making are going to shrink because I have noticed a lot more negitive comments.  The keep the cost down by not have a staff and everything being automated is going to cost them more in the long run.  A year ago the quality was better.  I dont know whats happened.  Oh check the binding because a lot of the books are falling apart.  The coating on the covers are seperating too.  It will look like air bubbles forming.

Thanks for the reprint
Book Printing

I am on my second time with a reprint due to quality issues.  I have noticed the inconsistancy of reprints.  I did not send my original book back because I wanted to compare them side by side.  The reprints are actually worse than the first book.  We had binding issues too.  We also had cover issues with the soft and hard covers.  The coating is seperating and it looks like air bubbles on the cover.  Their quality has gone down hill.  About a year ago it wasnt like this.  However on the soft cover books they fell apart last year.  Its hard to believe that a whole year has gone by and they still have not corrected the binding issue.  If they want to keep cost down they should think about fixing some the issues.  They are going to start loosing customers.  I am using a different book printing company.  I give up trying to work with blurb.

Changing from Dust Jacket to Image Wrap
Book Printing

Dont do it the print quality goes to good to bad.  We did the same thing for a soccer book and the quality of the pics turned out grainy.  I contacted them and asked how could the pics be fine in the dust jacket cover and then order the same book in the hard cover and the quality of the pics are horrible.  They use different print companies to print.  Becareful

Coating Issue on Imagewrap Covers
Book Printing

We have the same problem.  Yea some kind of coating problem.  Evertime we open and close the book the coating coming apart is getting wider.  I am so pissed.  I paid NDA to have this book for a deadline.  I hate the way you have to go through customer service to get help.  Oh I dont want to talk about the quality of the pics.  They are not using quality print settings to print these book.  Something is wrong.  You can screw up a pic when your using a Cannon 5D Mark II.

Quality of the finished product
General Interest

We received our book orders today.   The quality of the cover is not good.  Where the book folds to open and close the print is wearing off leaving a thick grey line.  It looks like is spreading and the line is getting thicker.  It’s almost like the paper is separating from something.   Also the quality of the pics inside the book are not good either.  They are very grainy.  I don’t understand.  We have a 21 mega pixel camera and on our computer screen they are perfectly clear.  In the book the print is horrible.  We have made book in the past and the print quality was a lot better.  I made a dog book and the camera we used back then was only 8 mega pixels and the print of the pics in that book is a lot better.  We order the same kind of book which is the hard cover image wrap.  I am so disappointed.   The whole soccer team has been waiting all season for this book and now I am embarrassed to show it to them because of the quality inside and out.  We put a lot of time into this book and it’s very disappointing to see the outcome turn out like this.  I wonder did they switch to a different vendor?  Is there a solution to this problem?  I have possible 18 people who want to order this book.  I would not pay $75.00 for the quality of this product.  Please help I am freaked out and upset.  The book is expensive because it has 290 pages and not becasue we raised the price.  The whole point was to show off all the great shots of pics that my husband spent all year taking pics of all the soccer games.  To even show the book looks like we too the pics with our cell phone.
