disapointed by the packing
Ordering and Shipping

Hey guys,

 i am wedding photographer.

i just receved my order: 96 pages in  large landscape with Custom logo, b3 process and premium page: 116.43 €.

i’m just disapointed with the packaging,  just a stanbdard box like for Amazon… this book has been sold within a full wedding service, that’s a deliverable !! and you put that just in a fxxxng carton box ?

just kidding, the result is that a corner has been damaged and it’s visible inside.

colors are ok, paper is ok, book himself is ok, the shipping of UPS  has killed my book.

i am really, really tired wiwth this kind of issue.

color proofing
Tips and Tricks

Tony,

What about conversion into the profil instead of soft proofing??

i’m always reluctant to make soft proofing, a french provider of printer profil advied me do not make soft proofing and to trust the profil of the printer.

Assign Profile vs. Convert Profile
Tips and Tricks

I advise to use the "image processor" and to use the srvb conversion, moreover the processor is more fficient than a script.

Anyone Received a Book With ImageWrap Cover Yet?
Book Printing

i just received a mail from Maggie, client service.

just impressive to solve the issue with credit note. In my case i choose a Dust Jacket instead of Image Wrap.

staying to think you have to improve the manufacturing process.

Matte is not usable, really.

take care.

Anyone Received a Book With ImageWrap Cover Yet?
Book Printing

Hello

i’m french wedding photographer and i just received my first with Image wrap .

Inside it’s beautiful as usual, coulours are high Fidelity and it’s really good B&W.

But, there is a huge "but".... the hard cover is completely crappy:

-completely scratched on Recto and verso, exactly if you pulled it on a table with dust during 2 miles… it’s completely matte withour coat, for sur it’s really fragile.

I recommended Blurb around me and all my colleagues are happy with dust cover.

Moreover, i ordered a second one, just after, to be a reference to show my job.

I am really disappointed  and i have the feeling to be "test customer" for a technology which is not undercontrol.

Why did you send me that  rolled in the transpparent film? don’t you have a Quality check ?

I’m loosing time, even i ccanot afford to show the book to my client,  i’m not able to keep my schedule for my client…

i’m really sad with this situation because i think my second book which shoul arrive in a couple days wil be in the crappy status..

First test, Benefit and improvement to apply on a 25 x 23 book with dus...
Book Printing

Hello everybody,

i tested Blurb hereafter my B’s and C’s

B’s:

-Shipping date known with the order

-Shipping date was right

-packing ok

-Colorimetry is good (i did soft proofing)

-dust cover good quality

-bookbinding good

-semi matt parper is nice

-good price

-very good Dmax using a curve layer in Photoshop to have a deeper black!!

Improvement to do:

-One big "dust" has been stuck under the material of the cover (4mmx 4mm and 2 mm high !!!  it’s really ugly

-2 pages cut on the pictures upper and lower , no control in the software  ??

-not enough possibility for Portraiture format.

Marketing proposal: to allow to raise some issue with proof (pictures of the default) to benefit of discount or cumulative proposal…. i would appreciate if Blurb propose to me to have a significant discount due to my issues.

it’s quite simple i have to sale the book for wedding, i cannot take the risk to have an issue in my book….How to manage the risk ??

i really appreciate an answer from the Blurb management .

do i advise Blurb? my answer is yes !

-2 white mark on 2 pictures: 2 mm x 2 mm

Thx to confirm ma Soft proofing.
Book Design and Imaging

I use a Lacie CRT calibrated.

i just try a a soft proof using th eHP Indigo 5000 ICC profile grabbed from the link on …Bonzai…

I proofed starting a SRGB pictures, the only difference i noted is that the Black is less black. a 0 is tra, slated betwwen 5 and 10 (on the scale  0 – 255)

The colors are quite the same.

am i right ? did you make the same observation…?

i would like to be sure before ordering over the sea..

see you from France…
