recieved first test book.. have an imaging question
Book Design and Imaging

hmm, I’m not sure if this has anything to do with it but it might have to do with your screen.

On my laptop, you cannot see any white specs in the photos i’m working on but I’m currently on a a designer’s 22" screen with dynamic contrast 3000:1 and it shows up EVERYTHING.  Maybe it has to do with that?

I also say to definitely invest in photoshop if you want good photographs.  Even a free trial version. It’s the most usefulpiece of software you’ll ever get. I took a photograph of the moon and it showed up white spots all throughout. A simple thing by just clicking ‘multiply’ takes all the white and makes it pitch black.

I know that’s not a major help for you at the moment but I would invest in photoshop :) Then again, it could just have to do with the printing quality at Blurb.

Fonts in jpg format?
Book Design and Imaging

For my book, I’m doing each page as a .jpg image, so I can design it just the way I want it.

In regards to font sizing – I’m doing a 7×7 book and it says each page should be 2063 X 2067 pixels. The only thing is that when I do the fonts in photoshop, (white backgroung with text, saved as a jpg image) then import them into the book, they look all squished. How do I get them clear?

 Sorry of this sounds confusing.
