Aperture & Blurb PDF creation
PDF to Book

Thanks for that. I needed to make my old blog private as I’ve got a job coming up that means I need to have relatively little about my life online – so hopefully everyone else will be able to figure out how to find it! Likewise my ‘work’ blog doesn’t have comments, but it seemed like together we’d managed to cover all the Aperture to Blurb PDF issues pretty exhaustively – I never realised when I wrote it how much that tutorial would be referenced!

Regarding Lion, I still find some of the new changes counterintuitive (my favorite way of politely saying stupid…) But yes, you’ve hit the nail on the head there. When I get a moment in the next few weeks I’ll go back and update it as I think that’d be useful…

Aperture & Blurb PDF creation
PDF to Book

Hi guys – I wrote a tutorial on how to use Aperture’s book layout tool to create PDFs for Blurb. I’ve just closed my old blog, but the tutorial is now at

Hope that helps!

Sorry, I went straight to InDesign to do the cover – you could definitely do something in Aperture 2 but doing spine text is way easier in InDesign. Perhaps you could have a go using Pages, Word, NeoOffice, etc.?

I’ve just written a step by step for using Aperture’s book layout tool to generate PDFs for blurb – check it out here

Exciting news – Blurb now accepts PDFs!
PDF to Book

Regarding the ‘how do I remove the book templates’ from Aperture question, it is simple – you just hit the backspace key and it asks you if you want to delete the template.

My question is – how do you calculate the margins in Aperture? It’d be really helpful if the Blurb crew could just post the data that you need to put in to all the boxes.

Cheers!

Matthew
