How can I include the URL to purchase my book in my book ?
Tips and Tricks

While we wait for a Blurb solution…  it occurred to me that you could host a page that forwards to the Blurb page for your book.  You put that URL in the book.  Once the Blurb URL exists, you can update your page and that completes the reference.

Now to your idea about author, that works, tool.   Your profile pages lists your books.

interesting problem  <del>- chicken and egg class, I’d say.

It would be great if Blurb solved it by allowing for some XML to be inserted in the book, which would be parsed at the time of upload and substituted with the URL string.. which will remain an unknown quantity even to Blurb until you submit the book…

Even that is problematic -</del> their protocol does not assign a useful URL until you make the book public.. which can only happen AFTER you order your first book.  So, your proof copy would still contain the XML.

Only after you commit can you get in the pipeline for an id that gets you a URL.

A mechanism like that would be nice… but its not there.
