Changing photo resolution
Just to clarify, it’s actually called "Image Size" on the PS menu. And be sure to UNCHECK the box that says "Resample Image", otherwise your actual image dimensions will also be modified accordingly (which you probably don’t want).
Custom Layout - Dimensions Discrepancy Help
According to this link, the dimensions for a full-bleed 10 X 8 Hardcover Dust Jacket are 10.25 inches wide by 8.53 inches high. In Photoshop, this yields a layout with pixel dimensions of 3075 X 2559.
However, within the BookSmart program, the specified dimensions are 10.1 X 8.5 for the container size and 3038 X 2555 for the optimal photo size. What gives?
I understand that there’s a need to add a 1/8" safety zone for the page bleed, so its possible that one version factors this in and the other doesn’t. But these dimensions don’t even seem to maintain the same aspect ratio.
When setting up a custom template in Photoshop, what are the correct dimensions to use INCLUDING the 1/8" bleed buffer for a 10 X 8 Dust Jacket, and a regular full-bleed page?
Thanks for your help,
