Blurb has VERY POOR Customer service and sub par product.
General Interest

Just had to reply to this post to give my experience of Blurb. I have made 5 books this year and have been delighted with the quality of product and service. My daughter has also made a book with complete satisfaction. When my latest book arrived this week it was damaged on the book jacket and the hard cover was dented. I contacted Blurb and asked what I should do. I didn’t get mad and irate although I had been working on it for a year! Blurb contacted me on the same day to say that they had ordered a reprint of my book and they would send it express. Hardly making me jump through hoops, oh and I am getting a replacement! Can’t thank you guys enough, looking forward to making more books with you in the New Year! Keep up the good work!

Update on BookSmart 1.9
General Interest

Dear Jack, I too have been keen to see 1.9 released and see what is new on it. In fact I have delayed making a book of our vacation to see if there are any new layouts or improvments that could make my book better. I am using 1.8 on a macbook and have made 2 great books that I am delighted with and have experienced no problems. I am happy to wait until you are sure that all bugs and reliability issues are ironed out. Don,t let these moaners on here push you into rushing out the new version, after all if you do and it has faults these same guys will be the first to complain about it!

Blurb boooks vs Apple books
BookSmart

Hi Phil, I have had books printed by Apple, MyPublisher and Blurb so can comment on all 3. The first books i had printed were by MyPublisher and the quality was very good. I started using Aperture and had a book published by Apple at Christmas, the quality of the paper or the colours of the photos were not as good as MyPublisher. I know people say that Mypublisher prints Apples books but the quality of the books is not the same in my experience. They also say that customer service is poor from MyPublisher but my experience has been the opposite, any questions or queries answered promptly. However, about 3 months ago I made a large hardback book with Booksmart and it was a revelation! it is a true coffee table book. I have made a 2nd book since and am equally pleased with it. I can heartily recommend Booksmart as the best of the 3. Hope you enjoy your books!
