Text issue on spine
Book Design and Imaging

Thanks Tony.  It seems to change it’s mind on the preview.  Sometimes it shows a warning, sometimes not.  Do you have a recommendation for font size on the spine?  What’s typical (given a short title of 22 characters)?

Text issue on spine
Book Design and Imaging

I have a 146 page imagewrapped hardbound.  The spine is giving me a text warning even though the title is very short and I’ve tried the smallest sized font.  Any ideas?

I want to print the link of where to buy my book IN my book.
Web Features

Does the link ever change or will it always be the same?  Do I have to have my book public to find that exact link?  It’s still private for the time being.  If it needs to be public, can I temporarily make it public to find the link, put that link IN my book, then make the book private again until its offical launch.  In other words, when I re-make the book public, will it still have the same link?

Can't find how to enlarge text on uploaded preview
BookSmart

I did do that and that is certainly a work around – thank you.  There was something were if it were turned on, when you hovered over the text, it would enlarge in a semi-transparent text box so it was more readble online.  Does that help?

Can't find how to enlarge text on uploaded preview
BookSmart

You know how there was a way to make the text enlarge during preview when uploaded onto Blurb’s site?  I turned it off and now can’t find how to turn it back on.  I’ve tried to do searches for it, but am apparently not using the right search terms.  Thanks in advance.

Updated Book Preview
Web Features

I would love to be able to choose the specific pages for the preview.  That would give us better marketing control of our product. A photography book can’t be front-loaded or the book loses steam, but for the purpose of a preview, I wouldn’t mind being able to showcase the most compelling photos no matter their position in the book.

Is there a limit to how many versions of a book you can upload?
Ordering and Shipping

After you make an order of at least one book, how long does it stay on the server then?

I’ve never made a template in Photoshop before, but that aside, what you are telling me is that ‘yes’, I can upload many versions of the same book.  In other words, Blurb doesn’t put a limit on this?

My book is for charity and I will be soliciting donors who may want their name/photo to appear at the top of a page.  Let’s say that there are 100 donors and 25 of them are particular about placement.  Can I upload 25 different versions of the same book so the version THEY get has the placement they want.  Assume that they are aware of this and are OK with it only being that way for their particular copy, can this be done?

Font switching on some computers... how does it print?
Book Design and Imaging

I’m sure this is a silly question, but I have to ask before going to print.  There are two big words that have pages of their own (so large text), one with Scribble as the font.  The other with Vladimir Script as the font.

On two different computers, the screen reverted to a default font, which of course, screwed up everything.

I’m sure this is just a computer thing, right?  It will print the way I have designed it?

Newbie question
Book Design and Imaging

I know this is a matter of personal taste, but what is generally considered the appropriate size for reading text?  I can’t seem to decide based on looking at it on my monitor,  Eight seems too small, 12 seems to big, but maybe I’m making this determination on how it appears on my screen.  Thanks.

How do I found out in advance what that web address might be?  In other words, if my book is in an office somewhere, someone reads it and wants a copy, it would be nice if the book actually pointed them to my store.

Right Justifying Text
BookSmart

Hi.  First time Blurbian.   Above my quotation page I left justify my header.  The footer is right justified.  Everything looks fine when I preview, but when I close out and come back, everything is left justified again.  Strange.  This has happened abour 4 times now.  Any thoughts?
