Help!  I’m writing a new book and my copyright question is this:

If I write a story from a copyrighted newspaper article, am I in violation of the copyright?

Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the help.  I’ll try these.  My original problem was that I wanted to see everything everyone wrote about ISBN’s together.  Maybe the search will work.

Is there any way to make the forum have threads; i.e. topics would be kept together instead of searching through 30 or more pages for a particular topic?

I am glad to have the forums, and I just would like to have an easier way to find out what everyone thinks about particular topics.

It would also help eliminate these duplicate questions we see over and over.

Keep us the good work.

ISBN and Amazon.com
Tips and Tricks

The instructions for Amazon and Barnes and Noble are both on their site.  I believe it’s filed under authors or something like that.  Sorry for the generalization, but I only glanced through the instructions to see if I could do it.

ISBN CODE
Tips and Tricks

Hi All,

I talked with isbn-us.com and they provide the ISBN single with a barcode for $55 in an *.eps (encapsulated post script, I believe) but I don’t know how to conver to *.jpg for insertion in my book.  I’m going to go ahead and get my sample and decide on the rest later.  Thanks for alll your comments.

ISBN CODE
Tips and Tricks

http://www.isbn-us.com/ - here’s another possibility that says they include the bar code.  I’m checking this one out myself.

ISBN CODE

WWW.ISBN.ORG.  Be sure to read their warning about unauthorized sellers of individual numbers.  Only your publisher should assign ISBN’s from their block of numbers.  These are 10 for $270 and $25 each for bar code.

How do I print a local copy of my cover front and back?
Tips and Tricks

I am working with an illustrator and need to send him a proof of the cover.  How do I do this?  When I print all pages, no cover comes out.  In the earlier versions of Blurb I got a cover with the disclaimer across it.

Need help on repeating cover design inside
Tips and Tricks

I am selecting to print my book first in softcover.  The picture on the front and the back of the cover is selected.  I am not sure which page to repeat the cover picture inside for best effect.  I have the cover page, title page, copyright page and then a repeat of the cover.  But something doesn’t look good because the next page is the first page of the story with a picture.  These are all hand drawn illustrations.

I could use some direction on this.  Kathy
