Blurb Problems
General Interest

I just went through the forums and stumbled across this threat and checking out your book. That is a great book! My husband is a RR fanatic and I put this book on my list for a gift to him this year!

my first book finally arrived
Ordering and Shipping

I have to agree with mvision. So I have only made one book (German Family Recipes Cookbook) and I don’t have much budget to put out upfront. I was sooooooooooooooo happy when I got the book and saw the results. Everybody I gave the book to is complementing on how professional the book looks. They had expected a dull, standard fundraiser, ring-bound version. The photo colors are excellent, so vibrant. I also chose premium paper, which I think is great for a cookbook in case you splash some water on the pages in the kitchen. I ordered a hardcover with dust jacket for myself and I am very happy about the quality.

There were some printing/shipping hickups before Christmas, but I assume it must have been mayhem, because everybody wanted their stuff before the holidays. In the end I got my books on Christmas Eve, just in time.

I’m very happy with Blurb and am currently working on my next (cook) book projects, hopefully to be released later this year.

Tips on getting books quickly
Ordering and Shipping

Hi Meryan,

I had some issues with books I ordered before Christmas, but there was a problem with the printer and I’m glad they reprinted them and sent me the quality that you are paying for, rather than something "half-baked". Recently I put in another small order and I had it back within 8 days.

Being new to publishing myself too, I learned a lot during this process. Like with everything, planning and providing for some time "cushion" is always the best to consider, because everything outside your own supervision cannot be controlled. There can always be the one thing that goes wrong if you need things to happen on a tight deadline… and usually Murphy’s Law applies in such situations.

All in all I have to say that I’m very very pleased with the outcome of my book related to the quality-cost-ratio, compared to other self-publishing services out there! I could not have made such a professional looking book with other services on the web. So I’m very satisfied with Blurb.

Good luck!
